Done Is Good

The Wearable Light kit is a leather cuff with LEDs embedded inside. The Velcro functions as a switch so the bracelet only illuminates when it is in active use. It is a kit designed as an investigative tool to gain insight into DIY culture. Marrying sewing techniques with electronics, a new aestheticized vernacular for constructing simple circuitry is developed.

SparkLab looks very cool, but when I read copy like that, it makes me so glad that I am out of academia. I’m sorry, but I’m sure that kit was made because it was fun, plain and simple, and there’s nothing wrong with fun!
