She was for it before she was against it: Part MMVI
Andrew Halcro has laid out a chronology of when Palin supported the Bridge to Nowhere and when she didn’t. Synopsis: while she was running for Governor, she promoted the bridge project (see photo); after Sen. Ted Stevens’ home was raided, she quietly pulled out of the bridge project. Gov. Palin may have enacted a few reforms in Alaska, but it seems she was more than happy to help Sen. Stevens cash in on Washington pork, until it began to threaten her own political career.
It is also a matter of public record that Todd Palin was a member of the Alaska Independence Party (“Alaska First — Alaska Always”) until Sarah Palin began her bid for lieutenant governor in 2002, at which point Mr. Palin made his party choice private by changing his official affiliation to “undeclared.”
I don’t know how anyone can make the argument that Sarah Palin has the best interests of the country at heart.
